When we recognise our place in the world we open ourselves up to being present and listening to our surroundings.

Sometimes we don’t take enough time out of our busy lives to appreciate the very things right in front of our noses.

When we experience awe, we are challenged by the presence of something so much bigger than ourselves. When we stand in front of an enormous landscape, watching waves roll into the shore or walking through a field of yellow daffodils, it makes us feel very small in this very large world.

It’s been said that this feeling connects us to ourselves and each other.

When we see ourselves as part of the whole universe we begin to support the very things that keep our world revolving.

We all need to be part of the larger community of earthlings. We need to care and nurture it every day, and whilst we may be only one person in a world of billions, we can make a difference.

When we are at one with nature we can live our lives in harmony.

In our day-to-day life we forget about these miracles that surround us.

Mahatma Gandhi said “Be the change you want to see in the world”, and this starts with us.

We cannot always control what goes on in our world but we can start with ourselves.

By living a grateful life and appreciating and respecting our fellow human beings we can live by example. We can teach our children to love and nurture themselves and others to create a world of peace.
