Whether you are trying to cut down on plastics heading to landfill or you are concerned about the chemicals that can be released from plastics, we can all make a difference to the amount of plastics we use in our day to day lives.
Here are four ways you can make a difference:
-
Use glass or ceramic containers to store your left overs – heat can release microscopic chemicals from plastics into your food. Use non-plastic containers to re-heat and store your food.
-
Change your water bottle and use a reusable coffee cup – Switch to glass for your water bottle and carry a re-usable cup for your morning coffee. This will eliminate plastic waste and keeps single waste cups out of landfill.
-
Plastic packaging may contain potentially harmful chemicals – even if the label says ‘BPA’ free, it may still contain chemicals like phthalates. Check the numbers on the containers and keep away from any plastics labelled 3 and 7. Numbers 1, 2 ,4, 5 or 6 are a better choice.
-
Responsibly recycle – managing waste and being proactive with your household recycling will save energy and de-tox your home.
Here at NativeBliss, our products are natural and organic, grey water safe, biodegradable and recycled responsibly.
